Tourism Rossland is the destination marketing and management organization of the resort municipality of Rossland. We work collaboratively with tourism stakeholders to grow the year-round tourism economy in line with our community's vision and values. Our strategic objectives include increasing visitation and spending during need periods through effective destination sales and marketing investments, continuously improving Rossland's visitor servicing and experiential quality, and building a compelling and authentic destination.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator/Manager to help develop marketing plans and lead initiatives that drive visitation to Rossland. You will be part of a small team that is responsible for all aspects of managing Rossland's destination marketing communication. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creativity, loves social media, enjoys working collaboratively within the tourism sector, and is passionate about the unique mountain lifestyle that defines our tourism industry. The title and responsibilities will be determined based on the experience of the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of strategic priorities from the Tourism Rossland Strategic Plan, under the supervision of the Executive Director.
Develop powerful and engaging social media content to inspire travel to Rossland and other communities represented by Tourism Rossland.
Manage day-to-day operations of Tourism Rossland's social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram.
Organize and coordinate media visits while assisting in media relations and communications.
Manage and maintain Tourism Rossland's website and digital assets.
Oversee the development and distribution of marketing collateral.
Manage photo and video content development.
Take an active role in trade shows and sales events.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the field; or equivalent education/experience.
Experience in digital marketing, content creation, and social media management.
Excellent verbal, written, and online communication skills.
High degree of sensitivity in dealing with the public, board, and stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to travel and work flexible hours as required.
Familiarity with the outdoor tourism industry is an asset.
Skills in graphic design, web development, and photo or video content creation are valuable assets.
Creative, organized, and passionate about sharing Rossland's story.
