DONE/UNDONE, an original Bard on the Beach production, at the Silver Screen Drive-in

August 26 9:00 to 10:30 pm

On Thursday, August 26 at 9 pm the Silver Screen Drive-in brings you another original live recorded performance: “DONE/UNDONE” by Kate Besworth (2021), an original Bard on the Beach production!

“Done/Undone” is inspired by a complex modern question: how well do Shakespeare’s plays stand the test of time – and should some of them not be staged anymore? This provocative and entertaining response stars Bard on the Beach veteran actors Charlie Gallant (Shakespeare in Love, 2019) and Harveen Sandhu (As You Like It, 2018). They bring multiple characters to life, including two battling scholars, a pair of actors in Hamlet, a theatre-going couple divided over Shakespeare’s appeal – and Shakespeare himself!

The show‘s central theme could be seen as challenging for a Shakespeare festival. Instead, Bard’s Artistic Director Christopher Gaze, says “This production brings an original and thoughtful new perspective to complicated modern questions about Shakespeare’s works. Its spirit, wit and insights will resonate with many people and points of view.”

Audience Advisory: The film includes mature themes and strong language. It contains scenes with discussions of racism, sexual abuse, and anti-Blackness. Parental guidance is recommended.
