Ask a Geologist at the Museum

August 22 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon of geological exploration!
We've invited our local geology experts to hang out with us outside of the Roger Terhune Geology Building, do some show and tell, help us understand our local landscape and its impact on local flora and fauna, and answer all of your questions!

This time, we've got Jock Slater - Geologist - to share what he's explored about the volcanic history of this region. Learn about the relationship between precious metals and volcanoes, and challenge the theory of Rossland being in the crater of an extinct volcano!

Join us a bit early with Saturday's Summer Snippets Kids Program (12pm) on glow-in-the-dark volcanoes to make a whole afternoon of it!

This event is free for members and included in regular admission for non-members.

Keep an eye out for more geology events, including some hikes/walks later this summer/early Fall.

Supported in part by the Columbia Basin Trust.
