Free Musical Instrument Making Craft Workshop

January 18 11:30 am to 1:30 pm

Come join us at a FREE WORKSHOP from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday January 18th in celebration of our SAMAJAM: Rythmo2 show.

Children will make their own shaker musical instruments with help from the friendly staff from the Library and the VISAC Gallery.

Children will create handheld shakers from kitchen rolls and other household objects, and decorate them with wool, beads, stickers and more to make personalized instruments to play.

Then, head on over to The Bailey Theatre for 2:00 PM for the interactive, children’s musical show, in which ALL participants become musicians by receiving several musical instruments to play during the performance. As an introduction kids discover percussion by tapping on different parts of their bodies. Drumsticks, musical tubes and more are distributed to the audience to give them a unique, rhythmic, powerful and energizing experience! With SAMAJAM's Rythmo 2, you are the show!

Make it an afternoon of fun with the 30-minute activity and the one-hour show!

This drop-in session will run from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the multi-purpose room at the Trail & District Public Library in the Riverside Centre and would take roughly 30-minutes.

Suitable for children from 4-10 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The activity is presented by the Trail & District Arts Council, Trail & District Public Library, and the VISAC Gallery.
