Kootenay Savings Music in the Park: Ron Halliday

Thursday, June 20 Kootenay Savings Music in the Park brings you multi-instrumentalist Ron Halliday and his band.

A regular at Jazz at the Griff, Ron is well established musically through his performances and five CDs, where Ron plays all the instruments. Ron Halliday plays a wide variety of musical styles including Jazz, Blues, Folk and Rock and Roll.                                                                                                 

At Music in the Park this week the band will include:  Ron on vocals, sax, flute, harmonica, and guitar;  Mark Speldman on bass; Steven Parish on drums; Tom Thomson on keyboards; and Terry Alton  on guitar.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
Plus, mark your calendars for the return on our exciting Night Markets, starting at 5 pm.
- July 18 the Lester McLean Band featuring acoustic soul, funk & pop with local favourite Tony Ferraro on drums from 7-8.30 pm, sponsored by Teck Metals Ltd. Come early so you don’t miss the market and opening act Brad Lee Whiplash & The Werewolves of Thunder at 6.15 pm!
- August 8, Locarno Band, featuring Tonye Aganaba hit the Gyro Park stage from 6.30 pm with their groove heavy mix of Mexican folk, Cuban Son and Latin soul.

The rest of the line-up is just as amazing, offering a range of styles, including the Diamond Willow, Plan B, Fiddle Camp Jam, Willy Blizzard, Devils You Don’t, Holly Hyatt Band, Blue Crush, and Hairlöss.

With entrance by donation ($2 minimum suggested), it’s the perfect opportunity to bring a lawn chair or a blanket, get outside and listen to some live music in the beautiful setting of Gyro Park every Thursday starting at 7 pm.
