The Trail & District Arts Council is very excited to bring you Music In The Park once again this year.
The Trail Pipe Band will be playing pipe band favourites from their huge repertoire. Trail Pipe Band is 95 years old in 2019 and today the band has an active roster of 10 pipers and 7 drummers in performance led by Pipe Major Gordon Titsworth, a 30 year veteran of the band.
The tartan kilts they wear today are modeled after the uniform of the Scots Guards: Royal Stuart tartan kilts and plaids; with green tunics for the pipers and red tunics for the drummers. Their goal is to promote the Scottish tradition by teaching the arts of piping and drumming. For more info go to their website http://www.trailpipeband.ca.
Joining the Pipe Band will be Scottie School of Dance from Castlegar featuring dancers from Castlegar, Trail and area.
Music in the Park happens every Thursday (and two Tuesdays) from June 14 to August 30. With entrance by donation, it’s the perfect opportunity for you to get outside and listen to some live music. We are thrilled to be bringing in Artists from Jazz, to BlueGrass, to Funk, to Rock and Roll - Music in The Park will surely have something for everybody!
Bring a lawn chair. Admission is by donation - $2 minimum suggested.
Look out for our Night Market events on July 19 and August 16 where we’ll be adding Food Trucks, q Market and an Adult Only Beverage Garden!
