Youth Outdoor Photo Workshop

May 27 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

In this 1 day workshop, we’ll shoot with real athletes, edit our images and learn how to make our photos stand out against the rest.  Create your own style and take images of your favourite sport.

Want to learn action and outdoor photography skills? Want to create imagery of your favourite sport or outdoor activity?

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture announces a one-day outdoor photography and editing workshop instructed by photographer Ryan Flett.

Over nine years as a professional outdoor adventure photographer, Ryan Flett has explored the backcountry of BC, Yukon, the Pacific coast and Nepal, and worked for brands such as Baldface Lodge, Destination BC and Red Mountain Resort.

In this workshop, Students will learn general photography skills and how shoot images of action sports as well as landscape and nature photography, while communicating with models and athletes.

Students will meet at the Miners Hall for instruction, move to the Gulch trail to shoot mountain bikers, continue to KC peak, and return to Miners Hall for editing lessons. This is a great opportunity to learn how to create adventure imagery in the field!

Ryan will be doing editing lessons after shooting via PowerPoint and Lightroom, showing the process of editing and how to create a distinct style.

Students bring a camera (or smartphone), a notepad and a pen.

Join Ryan on Sunday, May 27 from 9am-4pm. This workshop is limited to 12 participants, so sign up today!

Open to ages 12-18.  Tickets available at “Out of the Cellar” @$25 or book online @$27.
