Snow Longer

April 6 7:00 to 8:00 pm

Join us for an all-ages evening for winter sports lovers and those of us who want to think more about how climate change might impact us here in the Kootenays.

We'll be showing a fun ski documentary called The Curve of Time. It follows the story of skiers Greg Hill and Chris Rubens as they try to become more sustainable athletes, while contemplating projections the ski season will be markedly shorter in the coming decades. The film is directed by Jordan Manley from North Vancouver and features Revelstoke skiers and slopes, among other places. It was shown at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and at the Vancouver International Film Festival.

There will be a kids' activity room, including a story and art-making to engage them while their parents and older siblings watch the film. Guest from local organizations will be on hand to briefly let folks know what actions are happening to decrease the impact of climate change. There will be a mini-market with the proceeds going to the Citizen's Climate Lobby.

Come for an evening of fun and information.
