They must've heard that garbage pick up got delayed.
Every night around 6:30 that bruin cruises up Spruce and cuts through some yards towards Park.
We have a good sized one hanging around near the Catholic Church. He did get some garbage when it didn't get picked up last week, then wandered through a few neighbours' yards during the evenings. He showed his face around 3:00 p.m. yesterday. He has a hideout up this way, so just beware if you walk your dogs around Leroi/Butte Street/Catholic church/old hospital area, as he has some well worn trails that the dogs pick up on right away. So far he has not caused any problems, so the CO doesn't want to be involved at this point; they recommend that the RAPP line be called if there are safety concerns. Like Alynn said, though...do the best you can to secure garbage and consider removing bird feeders and any other attractants for now.
